To stay healthy, we must eat healthy, otherwise face a dreadful phenomenon called ‘obesity.’ Obesity is a condition in which an individual has gained the tremendous amount of weight.
This poses dangerous effects on their health, physically and mentally. Which could lead to severe and dreadful life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks, CVD and diabetes. To tackle obesity, it is important for us to consume a healthy diet. Therefore, we should consume the right amount of fiber, protein as well as vegetables. Avoid eating sugary or fatty foods such as burgers, fries, ice creamsPakistanetc. However, all obese people are overweight but all overweight people are not obese. As excesses weight can also come from muscles or a person’s structure. Weight such as the weight of the bones also sometimes causes the weighing scale to give us the scares.
Society and its judgment:
Bodyweight which is 20% higher in a person is usually considered obese. Obesity is a disease which has rapidly started growing in some parts of Pakistani society. Disadvantages of Obesity increasing the health problem are Diabetes, Constant sleepiness, back pain, skin diseases, fatigue causes, cholesterol, and weight stigma. In Pakistan weight stigma is a big subject for discrimination. As we breathe in a narrow-minded society, obese people especially woman are easily made victims of bad mouthing. Since weight issue is a high topic of gossip. In every gathering, these people are made a target and are often found to be the subject of cruel jokes. Therefore, in a country like this, we need immediate awareness campaigns to educate the people. Pakistan is ranked the 9th obese out of 188 countries in the world today.
People suffering from obesity are often thought of like people who consume too much food. However, due to the lack of knowledge, there is a gap in this information which is not entirely true. Obesity can also be due to a condition that the patient might be suffering from. Genetics have a major role to play in this and can cause lifetime problems.
Stress and its effect on Obesity:
Obesity also stems from stress which is one of the leading problems now from which many people are suffering from. Stress needs to be treated so the hormones can relax and the person can shed the extra weight. There are many medicines which have a side effect that is gaining weight. Hence, before we jump the bandwagon and start body shaming people who are fat. It is important to take a step back and think from their perspective. They may be trying very hard to shed the weight and your body shaming them could actually cause a setback. As it can mentally damage them and add on to the pile of problems they are already dealing with.
World Obesity Day which is celebrated globally in the month of October to raise awareness. It battles the problem promise yourself, never to weight shame others or yourself. Give everyone a space to breathe and try to understand what they may be suffering from. Do not be shy and visit a doctor, encourage the person to visit a doctor. They might be able to guide you in a healthy way or diagnose any disease that you’re suffering from.

As technology has advanced bringing the use of television, laptops, washing machine and making life easy. People have become extremely lazy, this being one of the major reasons for obesity.

However, in both condition, it is easily determined that obesity is slowing on a rise, even among children. Professor Masood vice chancellor of Dow University says women have a greater tendency of gaining weight than men.
Therefore, men and women should be health conscious. Especially women as women are to give birth and obesity can have a big impact on pregnancy. Thus bringing along complications which may worsen the women’s conditions that could result in the infant or mother’s death.
